Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Grill Chef to join our culinary team. Duties
- Prepare and cook a variety of grilled dishes according to recipes and customer specifications
- Ensure all food is prepared in accordance with food safety standards and hygiene regulations
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the grill station and surrounding work areas
- Monitor cooking times and temperatures to ensure optimal quality and safety
- Assist in meal preparation, including marinating, seasoning, and portioning ingredients
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely service during busy periods
- Manage stock levels of ingredients, notifying management of shortages or expiry dates
- Adhere to health and safety policies at all times, including proper handling of equipment and utensils
Requirements
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or as a kitchen assistant within a restaurant setting
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices
- Previous experience working with grills or open flame cooking preferred
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
- Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
- A passion for culinary arts and delivering high-quality dishes to guests
- Flexibility to work shifts including evenings, weekends, or holidays as required by the restaurant schedule
