Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and reliable Garden Maintenance Assistant to join our team. This role involves supporting the upkeep and enhancement of various outdoor spaces, ensuring they remain healthy, attractive, and well-maintained. The ideal candidate will have a passion for gardening and horticulture, with a keen eye for detail and a proactive approach to landscape care. This paid position offers an excellent opportunity to develop practical skills within the gardening and landscape maintenance industry.

Responsibilities
- Assist with general garden maintenance tasks including planting, pruning, weeding, and mulching.
- Operate hand tools such as secateurs, spades, rakes, and hoes efficiently and safely.
- Use power tools like hedge trimmers, lawnmowers, and leaf blowers to carry out routine maintenance.
- Support irrigation system installation, repair, and regular watering schedules to ensure healthy plant growth.
- Help with landscape enhancement projects by preparing soil beds and installing new plants or features.
- Maintain cleanliness of work areas by removing debris and ensuring tools are stored properly after use.
- Follow health and safety guidelines at all times to prevent accidents or damage during tasks.
- Support team members in larger projects or specialised horticultural activities as required.
What We Are Looking For
- Previous experience in gardening, horticulture, or landscape maintenance is desirable but not essential; on site training will be provided.
- Plant identification/knowledge is advantageous.
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and irrigation systems is advantageous.
- A genuine interest in gardening, plant care, and outdoor environments.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions with physical stamina for manual labour.
- Good organisational skills with an organised approach to work tasks.
- Ability to follow instructions carefully and work effectively as part of a team.
- A valid driving licence is beneficial but not mandatory.
