We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Buyer to join our procurement team. The Buyer is responsible for the procurement of goods and services across the business, ensuring materials and services are sourced safely, efficiently and at the best value.
The role supports business operations through supplier management, commercial negotiation, cost reduction initiatives and effective contract and procurement management. The Buyer also provides support to the Stores function as required to maintain operational continuity.

Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end procurement process for goods and services, from sourcing and quotation through to purchase order placement and contract award.
- Source, evaluate and develop suppliers to deliver best value, quality and supply resilience.
- Negotiate pricing, commercial terms and contracts to achieve cost savings and value for the business.
- Build and maintain effective supplier relationships, resolving commercial and supply issues where required.
- Support tendering, contract management and supplier onboarding activities in line with company procurement procedures.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to understand business requirements and ensure materials and services are delivered on time.
- Identify, deliver and report on cost savings, cost avoidance and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Monitor supplier performance, expedite deliveries where necessary and manage supply chain risks.
- Provide support to the Stores team during periods of absence or increased workload to maintain business operations.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, procedures and HSEQ requirements.
- Adhere to health, safety and environmental policies and procedures to ensure the safety and wellbeing of employees, contractors, and visitor
What we are looking for
Essential
- Minimum of three years' experience in procurement, purchasing, sales or another commercial role.
- Strong negotiation, communication and organisational skills.
- Good commercial awareness, analytical ability, and the ability to build effective working relationships.
Desirable/ Advantageous
- A qualification in Business, Procurement, Supply Chain or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
- CIPS membership, studying towards CIPS, or a willingness to undertake CIPS.
