We are pleased to be supporting a fast-developing business in Ripon, North Yorkshire, with the recruitment of a HR Advisor on a part-time, permanent basis.
This is an exciting opportunity for an HR professional with strong interpersonal skills and a genuine desire to make a difference. The role offers opportunities to learn, grow and progress whilst supporting clients and their employees.
As the successful candidate, you will advise clients on their people function, predominantly by phone and email, ensuring approaches are fair and compliant with UK employment law.
You will provide tailored solutions to clients' people challenges across the employee lifecycle, including recruitment, performance management, reward and retention. Some solutions will be delivered within a project framework.
Key Responsibilities:
- Using HR information systems to access, input and compile data
- Preparing and sending customer communications, e.g. newsletters and employment law updates
- Supporting liaison with all clients
- Populating terms and conditions of employment for clients
- Supporting client relationships, responding to queries or challenges and managing expectations
- Providing accurate and timely employee relations advice to clients
- Supporting work reviews and change processes
- Creating bespoke compliance packs for clients, including employment contracts and handbooks
- Monitoring, reviewing and updating HR policies to ensure compliance with current legislation
- Driving business performance in relation to the organisation's objectives

Essential Skills, Qualities and Experience
- HR Assistant experience
- Knowledge of UK employment legislation
- IT proficient, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Strong letter writing and policy-writing skills
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Strong stakeholder management
- Organised, proactive and self-motivated
- Strong work ethic
Desirable Skills and Experience
- Presentation skills
- Familiar with WordPress and/or Mailchimp software
Qualifications
- CIPD qualified (preferable)
- Driving Licence
- Maths and English GCSE (Grade C or above)
Additional Info/Benefits:
- Salary: £29,000 - £31,000 FTE
- Working hours: 24-30 hours per week (4 days)
- 25 days annual leave + bank holidays (pro rata)
