We are seeking an experienced Cook to work independently in a small homely kitchen that is positioned within our 0-2 year-old room, preparing child-friendly meals for a maximum of 42 children.
You'll ideally work 9.30-5.00pm, 5-days per week, 50-weeks of the year. However, we will consider candidates who are only able to work 9.00-3.00pm (please note this on your application).
The successful candidate will be self-motivated, happy to work alone, and dedicated to delivering quality dishes each day.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes following recipes and presentation guidelines
- Ensure the dietery needs of all children are met and clearly labelled
- Assist in menu planning and development
- Ensure all food preparation meets food safety standards
- Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment
- Monitor stock levels and place orders when necessary
- Collaborate with nursery team members to ensure timely and efficient food production
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Cook or similar role
- Knowledge of culinary techniques and practices
- Ability to multitask
- Good understanding of food safety regulations
- Excellent time management skills
- Certificate in food safety and hygiene is desirable, but not essential
