Job Overview
We are seeking an energetic and adaptable Relief Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. In this vital role, you will be providing cover accross our 3 sites within stoke on trent, ST4, ST6, ST3 areas, so a driving license and own transport would be required,
you will need to be able to confidently step into various kitchen environments ready to go, ensuring high-quality food preparation and service across multiple settings. Your skills, culinary expertise, and passion for hospitality will help maintain exceptional standards, accross our 5* sites, even in the absence of the regular chef. This position offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your culinary talent while supporting a vibrant team dedicated to delivering memorable dining experiences. All roles are paid positions, emphasizing the importance of each team member’s contribution.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes, ensuring consistency and quality in every plate served
- Adhere to food production processes, maintaining food safety standards and hygiene protocols at all times
- Manage your kitchen operations during shifts, including overseeing food preparation, cooking, and serving activities
- Join and support team members in food presentation, portion control, and efficient workflow management
- Assist with inventory management, including stock rotation and ordering supplies as needed
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations across all kitchen activities
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to deliver excellent hospitality and customer service experiences
Skills
- Proven experience within a busy kitchen or hospitality environment
- Strong background in food production, preparation, and cooking techniques
- 1-2 years of kitchen experience with a focus on culinary excellence and food safety practices
- Knowledge of restaurant operations, including serving procedures and customer interaction
- Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices in food handling, allergen awareness and hygiene
