Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Head Chef/Kitchen Manager to lead our culinary team for a new opening in September. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive culinary expertise, and a passion for delivering exceptional dining experiences. This role involves overseeing daily kitchen operations, ensuring food safety standards are maintained, and inspiring a team of chefs and kitchen staff to achieve excellence. The successful applicant will play a pivotal role in menu development, staff management, and maintaining high-quality food production in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the kitchen team, including chefs and support staff, fostering a collaborative and motivated work environment
- Oversee all aspects of food preparation, ensuring consistency, quality, and presentation meet brand standards
- Develop innovative menus in line with current culinary trends and customer preferences
- Manage food safety protocols in compliance with health regulations and organisational policies
- Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and control food costs to optimise operational efficiency
- Ensure all kitchen equipment is maintained properly and operated safely
- Train new staff members on food preparation techniques, safety procedures, and service standards
- Coordinate with front-of-house teams to ensure seamless service delivery
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen area at all times
- Handle customer feedback professionally and implement improvements as necessary
Experience
- Proven supervisory experience within a professional kitchen environment, ideally in a restaurant or hospitality setting
- Extensive culinary experience with a strong background in food production, cooking techniques, and menu creation
- Demonstrable leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a diverse team
- Solid understanding of food safety standards and regulations relevant to the hospitality industry
- Previous experience in restaurant management or head chef roles is highly desirable
- Knowledge of hospitality operations including serving procedures is advantageous
