The role
Automotive OE Redditch is seeking a multi-skilled, electrically biased Plant Engineer with a strong mechanical background to join our engineering team. Reporting to the Engineering Group Leader, you will take day-to-day responsibility for both reactive and proactive engineering activities to ensure our facility operates at peak performance.
Work Pattern: 38 Hours per week, Monday to Friday, worked across a rotating shift pattern including (Mornings, Afternoons, Nights), providing site breakdown cover and (Days) for Project and other work.
Principal Accountabilities

Ensure all process plant activities meet Health, Safety, and Environmental standards

Manage both planned and reactive engineering issues, including site breakdown

Review plant performance to optimize preventative maintenance and deliver target KPIs.

Lead engineering improvement projects in alignment with business requirements.

Manage critical spares and use SAP to raise orders for contractors, projects, and materials.

Undertake infrequent site service and fabrication work as required by the business.

Maintain and update line-side documentation, procedures, and system backups.
What are we looking for?
The ideal candidate is a self-motivated professional who thrives in a data-driven environment and will hold a Level 3 NVQ Electrical Apprenticeship Qualification; and a relevant HNC, HND or BEng (Hons) is preferred.
We are looking for an engineer with a robust electrical foundation complemented by mechanical expertise and will ideally have proven experience within the Automotive sector, demonstrating an understanding of industry-specific quality and delivery standards.

Strong electrical bias with a solid mechanical background.

Experience of encapsulation processes would be advantageous

Proficiency in PLC systems (e.g., Allen Bradley) and Robotics (e.g., ABB Robotics).

Familiarity with material delivery systems and mechanical maintenance including hydraulics and pneumatics.

Ability for fabrication/Welding.
