Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Painter and Decorator to join our team. This role involves transforming interiors and exteriors by applying paint, wallpaper, and other decorative finishes to enhance the aesthetic appeal of various properties. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, excellent craftsmanship, and the ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team. A valid driving licence is preferred to facilitate travel between sites. This position offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects within the construction and renovation sectors, contributing to high-quality finishings that meet client expectations.
Duties
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, filling holes, and applying primer to ensure optimal adhesion of paints and finishes
- Apply paints, varnishes, wallpapers, and other decorative coatings using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment
- Interpret technical drawings and specifications to achieve desired design outcomes
- Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations and industry standards
- Manage time effectively to meet project deadlines while maintaining high standards of quality
- Maintain tools and equipment in good condition; organise supplies for each project
- Communicate with clients and team members regarding project progress or any issues encountered during work
- Assist in colour matching and selecting appropriate finishes for different surfaces or client preferences
Skills
- Proven experience in construction painting and decorating with a strong portfolio of completed projects
- Ability to operate various painting tools and equipment efficiently
- Good communication skills in English for clear understanding of instructions and client interactions
- Valid driving licence is advantageous for travelling between multiple sites
- Excellent attention to detail with a focus on achieving smooth, professional finishes
- Strong organisational skills to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work independently or collaboratively as part of a team
- Knowledge of health and safety practices relevant to painting and decorating roles
- MUST have CSCS card, DBS and own Van.
