Overview
We are seeking a professional and welcoming part time Receptionist/Night Porter to join our organisation. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for visitors and callers, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring the smooth operation of the front desk. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop organisational and communication skills within a dynamic environment. The successful applicant will be responsible for managing appointments, handling enquiries, and supporting administrative tasks as required.
This role includes morning, evening and night shifts, weekends and holidays.
Responsibilities
- Greeting visitors in a courteous and professional manner, ensuring they feel welcomed and attended to
- Answering incoming calls promptly and directing them to appropriate departments or personnel
- Managing appointment schedules and maintaining an organised calendar for meetings and visitor bookings
- Handling mail, emails, and other correspondence efficiently
- Maintaining the reception, bar and restaurant area in a tidy and presentable condition at all times
- Serving on the bar and serving breakfast
- Providing information about organisational services or procedures to visitors and callers
- Supporting other administrative staff with various tasks as needed
Experience
- Previous experience in a reception, hospitality or customer service role is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided to the right candidate
- Excellent verbal communication skills with a friendly and professional demeanour
- Strong organisational abilities with attention to detail
- Proficiency in using office software such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently whilst maintaining a calm and courteous attitude
- Well-presented with good interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently.
Must meet legal requirements to serve alcohol and lone overnight working.
