Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and dependable Construction Labourer to join our dynamic construction team. In this vital role, you will assist with a variety of tasks on construction sites, helping to build, repair, and maintain structures efficiently and safely. Your hands-on skills and enthusiasm will contribute directly to the successful completion of projects, ensuring quality workmanship and adherence to safety standards. Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation and cleanup of construction sites, including unloading materials and setting up equipment
- Perform general labour tasks such as digging, lifting, carrying, and moving materials using hand tools and power tools
- Follow schematics and blueprints to aid in the accurate assembly or installation of building components
- Operate various hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently under supervision
- Help with site safety procedures, including maintaining clean work areas and adhering to safety protocols
- Support the installation of structural elements such as framing, masonry units, or roofing materials as directed
Requirements
- Previous construction experience or a strong interest in building trades is preferred
- Basic knowledge of hand tools, power tools, scaffolding, and safety equipment
- Familiarity with roofing, plumbing, welding, electrical systems, masonry, plastering or carpentry is a plus
- Ability to read schematics or technical drawings is advantageous
- Strong physical stamina with the ability to lift heavy materials and perform manual labour for extended periods
- Excellent teamwork skills and a positive attitude towards learning new skills
- Valid safety certifications or willingness to obtain relevant training (such as OSHA) is preferred
