Pulborough Medical Group requires a medical receptionist to join our busy team. We need someone who can work flexibly. We will guarantee a minimum 20-37 hours per week, and these hours will be worked between 8.00am - 6.30pm Monday - Friday. The shift pattern will be agreed with you and the Reception Manager a minimum of 7 days ahead.
You will be working as part of a busy team aiming to give great service to our 13,500 patients.
Summary of Job Purpose
· To be first point of contact for patients phoning or arriving at the Practice
· To ensure the smooth running of reception
· To confidentially manage patient information
· To adhere to all Practice processes, policies and procedures
· To ensure that tasks assigned are kept up to date
Main Duties and Responsibilities of the Post
· Answering the phone, professionally, efficiently and effectively
· Booking appointments and home visits using our clinical systems
· Greeting patients at Reception in a professional manner and dealing with any issues
· Checking patients in when arriving for an appointment
· Issuing repeat prescription requests from patients
· Giving out test results to patients after review by the GP
· Liaising between GPs and patients sensitively and efficiently
· Managing patient data adhering to Information Governance guidelines
· Attending staff meetings
· Attending necessary staff training sessions
Additional Duties
· Covering for colleagues on holiday/sick leave
· Ensure reception printers have constant supply of paper
· Any other duties deemed necessary by Reception Manager
