We're looking for a reliable, well-organised Hotel Assistant to join our small team at 28 York Place, an award-winning boutique hotel, bar and events venue in Edinburgh's New Town.
This is a varied, hands-on role at the heart of a busy venue. You'll work across reception, housekeeping, and bar and events service, helping to give every guest a great experience. If you enjoy variety, take pride in a job well done, and like being part of a close team, this is the role for you. Training is provided, and previous experience is welcome but not essential.

What we offer
- £13.45 per hour (the Real Living Wage).
- 21 hours per week, across 3 days out of 7. Additional hours are often available during busy periods.

What you'll do
- Housekeeping: preparing guest bedrooms and public areas, assisting with breakfast, and helping with linen and stock.
- Bar and events: serving in Bar28, helping with functions, and keeping the space clean and welcoming.
- Reception: welcoming guests, check-ins and check-outs, answering enquiries, taking reservations and processing payments.
As you grow into the role, there are opportunities to get involved in the wider running of the business.
About you
- Well organised, with good attention to detail.
- Confident with everyday IT (email, Word, Excel); booking systems can be taught.
- Enjoys working with people and takes pride in great service.
- Reliable, and happy working independently or in a team.
- A responsible approach to payments and guest information.
- Available to work a flexible shift pattern, including weekends and midweek days, mornings and evenings as the rota requires.
