Service Engineer Job Description
Reporting to: Service Engineering Manager
Place of Work: Crossgar Northern Ireland
Requirements: Must have worked with Food Processing & Packaging Equipment within the Food Manufacturing Industry
Hours of Work: Permanent full time position Monday to Friday with occasional Saturdays only on breakdowns and installations. Willingness to travel throughout UK AND IRELAND to do installations and repairs of machinery
Main Purpose of Job: Service Engineers provide service, repair and installation of the full range of food equipment in our customers Factories.
As the front line of our after care function you will offer excellent customer service and high levels of support to our clients.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Repair, service and installation of food processing and packaging equipment
Carry out testing to ensure accurate fault diagnosis.
Build and maintain positive relationships with customers, delivering high standards of customer service.
Coordinate with office team in order to ensure effective planning, organisation and delivery of service and installation call schedules.
Ensure accurate and timely completion of all required paperwork and reports.
Adherence to health and safety practices and procedures.
Key Skills / Attributes: High level technical knowledge of all food equipment i.e. cooking, mixing, dicing, slicing, depositing packaging equipment.
Technical and problem solving skills.
Good communication, listening and customer service skills.
Knowledge of electrical theory and mechanical also a good understanding of safe working practices.

The service engineer's responsibilities include repairing faults, servicing equipment, creating preventative maintenance strategies.
You should provide friendly, efficient service at all times.
To be successful as a service engineer, you should be knowledgeable about machines and willing to accept constructive criticism. Ultimately, an outstanding service engineer will exhibit resourcefulness as well as superb active listening and troubleshooting skills.
Service Engineer Responsibilities:
· Using various strategies and tools to provide effective solutions to customers' concerns.
· Communicating with clients, engineers, and other technicians to ensure that services are delivered effectively.
· Promptly following up on service requests and providing customer feedback.
· Monitoring equipment and machinery performance and developing preventative maintenance measures.
· Conducting quality assurance and safety checks on all equipment.
· Delivering demonstrations to ensure that customers are educated on safe and effective equipment use.
· Providing recommendations about new features and product improvements.
· Monitoring inventory and reordering materials when needed.
· Conducting research
· Writing reports and presenting findings to Service Engineering Manager on a regular basis.
Must be based close to factory (Crossgar Northern Ireland)
