Aspira Education is recruiting for a passionate and qualified Occupational Therapist to join a specialist education setting supporting children and young people with Autism, SEMH and a range of additional learning needs.
This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a multidisciplinary team where you'll help pupils develop the skills, confidence and independence they need to thrive both in school and everyday life.
The Role
As the Occupational Therapist, you'll assess, plan and deliver specialist interventions that enable pupils to access learning, develop independence and improve everyday functional skills.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out comprehensive Occupational Therapy assessments.
- Developing and reviewing individual therapy programmes in line with EHCP outcomes.
- Delivering one-to-one and group Occupational Therapy interventions.
- Supporting pupils with sensory processing, self-regulation and daily living skills.
- Recommending specialist equipment and environmental adaptations where appropriate.
- Working closely with teachers, teaching assistants and families to embed therapeutic strategies into the school day.
- Contributing to annual reviews, reports and multidisciplinary meetings.
- Maintaining accurate clinical records in line with HCPC and professional standards.
- Supporting staff through advice, consultation and training.
- Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team including Speech & Language Therapists, Psychologists and education staff.
About You
We're looking for someone who has:
- A degree in Occupational Therapy.
- Current HCPC registration.
- Experience working with children or young people with additional needs.
- A strong understanding of Autism, sensory integration and neurodevelopmental conditions.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- The ability to manage a varied caseload independently.
- A proactive, compassionate and child-centred approach.
Experience within SEND, SEMH or specialist education is highly desirable but not essential.
