Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and proactive Forecourt Retail Sales Assistant to join our team. This role involves providing excellent customer service, managing sales transactions, and ensuring the forecourt area is well-stocked and organised. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, be organised, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Fluency in English is essential, with additional language skills such as Spanish or other languages considered a plus. Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist with their purchases at the forecourt retail outlet
- Operate the cash register accurately and handle cash, card, and contactless payments
- Upsell products and services to maximise sales opportunities
- Maintain stock levels on shelves through effective merchandising and organisation
- Provide information about products, promotions, and services to customers
- Ensure the retail area is clean, tidy, and well-presented at all times
- Manage phone enquiries professionally using good phone etiquette
- Assist with stock replenishment and inventory checks as required
- Support the team in achieving sales targets and delivering excellent customer service
Experience
- Previous experience in retail or customer service is advantageous but not essential; full training will be provided
- Multilingual abilities, especially bilingual in English and Spanish or other languages, are highly desirable
- Strong communication skills with an ability to engage confidently with customers of diverse backgrounds
- Basic maths skills for handling transactions accurately
- Organisational skills to manage stock levels and maintain a tidy workspace
- Good time management skills to prioritise tasks effectively during busy periods
- Ability to demonstrate professional phone etiquette when dealing with customer enquiries
- A proactive attitude towards upselling products and enhancing customer experience
Pay: £12.21-£17.13 per hour
