Day Rate: £180, inclusive of travel contribution
Hours: 10am–3pm or 11am–4pm, depending on the day

Friday 4th, Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th December
Friday 11th, Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th December

About the Role
Independent Events is looking for experienced, energetic performers to take on the role of Father Christmas at a wonderful Christmas grotto in Bury.
Father Christmas is at the heart of the experience. We are looking for warm, welcoming and engaging performers who can create memorable and magical interactions for children and their families.
Full costume, wig and beard will be provided.
Previous performance experience is essential. We welcome applications from experienced Santas, as well as performers who are new to the role but have the warmth, confidence and all-important twinkle in their eye required to bring Father Christmas to life.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver warm, engaging and memorable interactions with children and families
- Remain in character throughout each session
- Follow the provided performance format and grotto guidance
- Use improvisational skills to adapt each interaction to the individual child
- Work closely and professionally with the wider grotto team
- Help create a welcoming, inclusive and magical Christmas experience
- Maintain excellent energy and enthusiasm throughout the day
Essential Requirements
- Previous live theatre, acting or professional performance experience
- Strong improvisational and character-performance skills
- Confident interacting with children and adults
- Warm, friendly and approachable manner
- Reliable, professional and punctual
- Able to travel reliably to Bury
- Good availability across the listed dates
Ideally, applicants will be available for all event dates. However, we are happy to consider performers with partial availability.
