Responsibilities
- Operating trucks / lorries and any other large vehicles to transport goods over long distances
- Ensuring efficient routes are planned and deliveries are kept to a timely manner
- Completing regular inspections and maintenance of vehicles are essential to ensure safety and compliance
- Keeping accurate records of driving hours, mileage and delivery details is crucial for compliance with regulations
- Maintaining good relationships with clients and ensuring good and delivered in good timely conditions
- Ensuring safe working practices are adhered to at all times
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times during operations
- Assist with the organisation of deliveries, including handling paperwork and customer interactions when necessary
Experience
- Holds full UK driving license
- Holds HGV License for Category C1 and Category C vehicles
- Maintaining a valid Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC)
- Experience in driving tipper lorries or similar is highly desirable
- Knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for commercial driving
- Demonstrated ability to operate vehicles safely in various weather conditions and urban or rural environments
