Red Sky Shepherd’s Huts is looking for a practical and quality-focused Painter & Finisher to join our production team, helping to create high-quality, bespoke shepherd’s huts.
This is a hands-on workshop role covering the full preparation and finishing process. You will work with a range of paints, waxes, stains and oils, ensuring every hut meets the required production and quality standards.
What you will be doing
- Preparing surfaces through filling, sanding and de-nibbing
- Applying paint using brushes and rollers
- Carrying out paint spraying where required
- Applying waxes, stains, oils and other finishes
- Completing touch-ups and repairs to painted and finished surfaces
- Glazing windows and doors
- Operating woodworking machinery to complete cutting lists
- Supporting basic assembly work, including some heavy lifting
- Maintaining paint, finishing equipment and workshop areas
- Working to daily production schedules and agreed quality standards
- Assisting with occasional deliveries, installations and site work
What we are looking for
Previous experience in painting, decorating, spraying, furniture finishing, joinery finishing or a similar practical role would be beneficial.
You will also need:
- Strong attention to detail
- A practical and hands-on approach
- Pride in producing high-quality work
- The ability to work safely and efficiently
- A positive and enthusiastic attitude
- The flexibility to support different areas of production when required
Most of the role will be based within the workshop, although some outdoor work and occasional assistance with hut deliveries and installations will be required.

Pay: £13.50-£15.40 per hour
