Inch View Early Childhood Centre is looking for a caring, nurturing and enthusiastic Early Learning & Childcare Practitioner to join our dedicated team within our 2–12 years provision.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who brings warmth, energy and a genuine love of working with children.
You will play a key role in creating a safe, happy and engaging environment where children feel valued, secure and supported to thrive.
Working as part of a supportive and committed team, you will help provide high-quality play and learning experiences that are responsive to children’s interests and needs. You will support children’s wellbeing, development and curiosity through nurturing relationships and meaningful, fun experiences in line with Realising the Ambition, Curriculum for Excellence and GIRFEC.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide nurturing, responsive care and high-quality play experiences for children aged 2–12 years.
- Support children’s wellbeing and development through positive relationships and engaging, play-based learning.
- Contribute to planning, observations and assessments that reflect children’s interests and individual needs.
- Create a warm, welcoming and inclusive environment where every child feels safe, respected and valued.
- Support outdoor play, creativity and opportunities for exploration and discovery.
- Build strong partnerships with families, promoting trust and open communication.
- Work collaboratively as part of a team to maintain a caring and supportive ethos.
- Ensure a safe, clean and stimulating environment in line with Care Inspectorate standards.

The ideal candidate will:
- Be caring, nurturing and patient, with a strong understanding of the importance of attachment and wellbeing.
- Have a fun and playful approach, enjoying engaging with children through meaningful play experiences.
- Be enthusiastic and energetic, helping to create a positive and joyful environment where children feel nurtured, valued and included.
- Show sensitivity to individual needs, responding with empathy, care and understanding.
- Build strong, trusting relationships with children, families and colleagues.
- Work effectively as part of a team, contributing to the caring and supportive ethos of the centre.
- Value the importance of outdoor play, creativity and child-led learning.
You will have a relevant qualification in Early Learning and Childcare (e.g. SVQ Level 3 or equivalent).
This role requires you to be registered with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC), if you are not yet registered, you can still apply, as long as you are willing to apply for registration within 3 months of starting with us and be registered within 6 months.
