Are you an experienced Cook looking for a rewarding role within a friendly care home environment? We are seeking a reliable and passionate Cook to join our team in Brigg, Lincolnshire.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys preparing nutritious, home-cooked meals and making a positive difference to the lives of residents.
What You'll Be Doing
As a Cook, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality meals and maintaining excellent kitchen standards. Your duties will include:
- Planning and preparing a varied four-week menu cycle tailored to residents' dietary requirements, preferences and nutritional needs.
- Preparing, cooking and serving nutritious meals for residents and staff.
- Working closely with the Home Manager and care team to ensure residents receive appropriate nutrition and hydration.
- Ordering food and kitchen supplies within agreed budgets and company guidelines.
- Checking deliveries and managing stock effectively.
- Maintaining high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness and food safety.
- Following HACCP and COSHH procedures at all times.
- Building positive relationships with residents to understand their individual preferences and dietary requirements.
- Assisting with the recruitment and supervision of kitchen staff where required.
- Supporting a safe, healthy and positive working environment.
- Reporting any concerns regarding resident welfare in line with safeguarding and whistleblowing procedures.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Previous experience working as a Cook, Chef, Care Home Cook or Kitchen Supervisor.
- Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate.
- City & Guilds qualification or equivalent catering qualification.
- Good understanding of food safety, HACCP and COSHH procedures.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- A genuine passion for providing high-quality meals and excellent customer service.
Desirable:
- Previous experience working within a care home, residential home, nursing home, healthcare or catering environment.
