Locum Consultant in Respiratory Medicine (10-Month Fixed Term)
We are seeking to appoint a motivated and enthusiastic colleague to join our team within NHS Ayrshire and Arran for a 10-month locum period to provide maternity cover.
We work as a cohesive and supportive team, continuously striving to explore new ways of improving patient experience while enabling a sustainable work-life balance.
The existing Respiratory team at University Hospital Crosshouse is comprised of 8 Consultants and provides a broad range of specialist respiratory services for the population of North Ayrshire, East Ayrshire, and Arran. This fixed-term post is required to maintain service continuity and meet current demand across our specialist services. The team works closely with colleagues at University Hospital Ayr, and benefits from active teaching and research links with the University of Glasgow and Glasgow teaching hospitals.
The duties of the post are primarily biased towards the provision of specialist respiratory services. While this is a fixed-term appointment, the development of a specialist interest aligns with service needs and will be supported wherever possible during the tenure. There are also plans for workforce expansion and the within the next 6-12 months and the holder of this post would be encouraged and supported in applying for a substantive post in future should they be interested.
The successful candidate will benefit from an active postgraduate education programme, including access to a tailored one-year education programme for newly appointed consultants. Appropriate support and clinical orientation will be provided to allow you to integrate quickly, flourish within the role, and contribute effectively to the team during this 12-month period.
