SEN Teaching Assistant – Tiverton
£108 per day | Full-time | Monday–Friday | 08:00–15:00

We’re looking for an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant with strong ASD experience to join a specialist alternative education setting in Tiverton.
This is a rewarding, hands-on role supporting pupils who may struggle within a traditional school environment. The setting provides a structured, supportive and nurturing approach, helping young people build confidence, independence and positive relationships with learning.
What you’ll do
- Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with SEN
- Support pupils with ASD and additional needs
- Help pupils engage with learning and develop independence
- Support positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
- Work closely with teachers to deliver engaging learning activities
- Create a calm, safe and inclusive environment
What we’re looking for
- Previous experience supporting children/young people with SEN and ASD (essential)
- A valid child workforce enhanced DBS on the update service(preferred)
- A calm, patient and consistent approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Someone who can build genuine, positive relationships with young people
- A commitment to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing
