Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and energetic Activities Co-ordinator to bring joy, engagement, and meaningful experiences to our senior residents. In this vital role, you will design, organize, and facilitate a variety of recreational activities tailored to meet the diverse needs of our residents, including those with dementia. Your enthusiasm and creativity will foster a warm, inclusive environment where residents feel valued, stimulated, and connected. Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a dynamic calendar of activities that cater to residents’ interests, abilities, and care needs.
- Lead engaging group activities such as arts and crafts, music sessions, games, and exercise classes that promote physical and mental health.
- Personalize activities for residents with dementia to enhance their comfort and participation.
- Collaborate closely with care staff to assess individual resident preferences and abilities, ensuring activities are inclusive and safe.
- Encourage social interaction among residents by facilitating group outings, celebrations, and special events.
- Monitor resident engagement during activities, providing support or modifications as needed to maximize participation.
- Maintain accurate records of activity participation and resident feedback to continually improve programming.
Skills
- Proven experience in a care home environments with a focus on senior care.
- Strong understanding of dementia care strategies.
- Excellent communication skills to connect effectively with residents, families, and team members.
- Creativity in designing engaging activities that stimulate cognitive function and promote emotional well-being.
- Ability to adapt activities for residents with varying levels of mobility and cognitive ability.
- Compassionate caregiving approach with patience, empathy, and enthusiasm for enriching seniors’ lives.
- Organizational skills to plan schedules, track participation, and coordinate events seamlessly.
