Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council is looking for an experienced and ambitious Senior Project Manager to play a pivotal role in delivering our flagship Powering Our Future programme. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a portfolio of complex, large-scale transformation projects and programmes that will reshape services, improve outcomes for residents and help deliver the Councils strategic ambitions.
Working closely with senior leaders, elected members, partners and communities, you will lead high-profile corporate change initiatives, driving innovation, improving efficiency and ensuring projects are delivered successfully to time, cost and quality standards.
What youll be doing
- Leading a portfolio of complex, large-scale cross-Council programmes and projects.
- Managing multi-disciplinary teams and supporting colleagues through change.
- Developing business cases and shaping future service delivery models.
- Driving strategic transformation, service improvement and innovation across the organisation.
- Managing risks, budgets, resources, interdependencies and benefits realisation.
- Influencing and advising senior leaders, boards and elected members on key transformation priorities.
About you
Youll be an accomplished project or programme professional with a proven track record of delivering complex, large-scale transformation programmes in a public sector or similarly complex environment. You will have outstanding stakeholder management skills, experience of leading organisation-wide change and the ability to influence and engage at all levels.
You will bring:
- Significant experience of successfully delivering major programmes and projects.
- Strong leadership, communication and relationship-building skills. Experience of managing change across diverse stakeholder groups.
- A degree, relevant professional qualification or equivalent experience.
- Knowledge of project and change methodologies such as PRINCE2, Lean or Six Sigma.
