Cook's Cast Stone specializes in crafting high-quality architectural (construction) and garden stone designs. Servicing the construction industry nationally, we design from drawings and plans stone designs through intricate mould making. This involves joinery and fibreglass work. Stone designs such as Bullnose Treads, Swimming Pool Surrounds, Coping Stones and Windowsills are then cast using fine aggregates and hand finished before curing. Orders are then palletised and dispatched.
Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Cast Stone Manufacturer to join our dynamic production team. In this role, you will be responsible for fabricating durable cast stone products using a variety of tools and techniques. Your expertise will help ensure our architectural stone designs meet the highest standards of quality (BS1217), craftsmanship, and precision. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with a talented team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will be responsible for customer orders, meeting deadlines and ensuring a quality and premium product is delivered. Full training will be given. There is also opportunity for overtime and promotions for the right candidate.
Responsibilities
- Operate fabrication equipment, including moulds, grinders, and power tools (pnuematic rammers), to produce cast stone features
- Set up and maintain molds using hand tools and tooling to ensure accurate casting ( Tape Measure - Bench saw)
- Cast and finish cast stone pieces to achieve desired shapes and surface quality. (Handcrafted and trowelled)
- Assemble components accurately according to specifications, ensuring proper fit and finish
- Maintain a clean, organized workspace in the warehouse area, adhering to safety standards
- Perform basic math calculations for measurements, quantities, and quality checks during production
Experience
- Proven experience in a manufacturing environment. Ability to meet deadlines.
- Hands-on experience with hand tools, power tools, grinding equipment, and tooling for shaping and finishing products
- Strong mechanical knowledge and basic math skills for precise measurements and process adjustments
- Warehouse experience preferred for understanding inventory management and material handling
- Ability to work effectively in assembly processes while maintaining safety protocols
