Overview
At Care With Kindness, we pay well (£13.50-14.75/hour) because we are looking for special people who want to support elderly people within their own homes. Join our exceptional team as a Community Carer and make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals within rural areas between Ottery St Mary, Honiton and Cullompton.
In this vital role, you will provide compassionate, personalised support to help clients maintain independence, improve their quality of life, and stay safe in their own homes. Your positive attitude and proactive approach will foster trusting relationships and promote well-being across our rural community.
Duties
- Deliver tailored personal care services, including assistance with bathing, dressing and mobility to meet each client’s unique needs.
- Support clients with daily activities such as meal preparation, medication reminders, light housekeeping, and errands to promote comfort and independence.
- Monitor clients’ health and well-being by observing changes and reporting any concerns to healthcare professionals or family members promptly.
- Foster a warm, respectful environment by engaging in friendly conversation and encouraging social interaction to combat loneliness.
- Maintain accurate records of care provided, including daily logs and incident reports, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory standards.
- Follow all health and safety protocols diligently to ensure the safety of clients and yourself at all times.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop personalised care plans that reflect each client’s preferences and goals.
Requirements
- Excellent communication skills to develop rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple client needs efficiently.
- Previous experience in caregiving or community support roles is preferred but not mandatory; full training will be provided.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed. Priority will be offered to those who can offer Mondays and Fridays. All carers will need to offer some week-end care.
- Valid driver’s license with a reliable car, with business cover. We pay travel time at £13/hour and mileage at 45p/mile.
