Reader Volunteer
Do you enjoy reading and want to make a real difference?
We're looking for friendly volunteers to support blind and partially sighted people by reading letters, helping with forms, or sharing books, magazines, and newspapers. Your time can provide both practical help and valued companionship.
What you'll do:
You'll provide one-to-one reading and writing support, help with correspondence and forms, and share stories, news, and conversation. Through regular visits, you'll offer both practical assistance and a friendly connection.
What you'll need:
We're looking for people with a caring and reliable nature, good communication skills, and confidence reading aloud. You'll also need to be able to commit to the role for at least six months.
What you'll receive:
You'll receive full training and ongoing support, reimbursement of expenses, and the opportunity to gain valuable experience and new skills. Most importantly, you'll have the chance to make a meaningful difference in someone's life.
Enhanced DBS check required.
Pay: £0.10 per year
