We're looking for a Product Owner who can move fluidly between three ways of working: owning the day-to-day sprint delivery for one or more development squads; acting as the delivery lead who keeps timelines on track and the wider business informed; and, when a smaller initiative calls for it, stepping into a Product Manager role to gather requirements and define scope from scratch.
You'll sit at the centre of how our product ideas become working software, taking PRDs from our Product Managers and turning them into clear, sprint-ready stories for development squads, running backlog grooming and sprint planning, and owning the communication of delivery status to stakeholders across the business. This is a role for someone who's equally comfortable in the detail of a backlog and in a stakeholder update, and who enjoys the variety of switching between Product Owner, Delivery Manager and Product Manager responsibilities as the business needs.
Sprint Planning & Backlog Management
Owning and grooming the backlog for one or more development squads, ensuring stories are clear, prioritised and ready for sprint planning.
Facilitating sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews and retrospectives, keeping squads focused on the highest-value work.
Writing clear user stories and acceptance criteria that development teams can pick up with minimal back-and-forth.
Turning PRDs into Sprint-Ready Delivery
Partnering with Product Managers to take PRDs and translate them into epics, user stories and acceptance criteria that squads can execute against.
Clarifying scope and requirements with Product and Engineering, flagging gaps, risks or dependencies before they reach the sprint.
Ensuring non-functional requirements; performance, security, accessibility are captured alongside functional scope.
Delivery Management & Communication
Owning delivery timelines for your squad(s), tracking progress against roadmap commitments and flagging risks early.
Acting as the primary point of contact for delivery status, providing clear, regular updates to stakeholders across Product, Engineering and the wider business.
Managing dependencies and blockers across squads, escalating where needed to keep delivery on track.
Maintaining delivery documentation such as release notes, sprint reports and roadmap trackers.
Stepping Into Product Management (When Needed)
Taking the lead on some small projects and initiatives from discovery all the way to delivery.
Running discovery conversations with internal or customer-facing stakeholders to understand problems before defining solutions.
Defining success metrics for smaller initiatives and track outcomes post-launch.
Experience as a Product Owner, or in a similar hybrid Product Owner / Delivery role, ideally within a SaaS or HealthTech environment.
Proven experience managing sprint planning, backlog grooming and delivery for one or more Agile development squads.
Comfortable translating PRDs and high-level requirements into clear, well-structured user stories and acceptance criteria.
Strong stakeholder management skills and able to communicate delivery status clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Experience managing timelines, dependencies and risk across concurrent workstreams.
Working knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies and tools such as Jira and Confluence (or equivalent).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Comfortable working with ambiguity, and happy moving fluidly between Product Owner, Delivery Manager and Product Manager responsibilities as the business needs.
It would be a bonus if you also had -
Some Product Manager experience such as gathering requirements and scoping smaller initiatives directly with stakeholders.
Background in healthcare, healthtech, or another regulated industry.
Familiarity with roadmap and prioritisation frameworks (e.g. RICE, MoSCoW).
Experience working with distributed or cross-functional engineering teams.
