Overview
We're looking for an energetic, people-first General Manager to lead our team at Melville Place and help us build Scotland's most recognised coffee brand. Since 2014, Cairngorm has been all about making great coffee commonplace without losing its appeal to the people who really care about it, but we know great coffee is only half the story.
You'll own the day-to-day running of the café, keep standards high across coffee, food and service, and build a team who genuinely love coming to work. This is a leadership role for someone who leads with both empathy and structure, and who's excited to grow with us as we expand.
Duties
- Lead and supervise the café team from baristas, food team and Vibes, ensuring smooth, well-run daily operations
- Build and publish rotas at least two weeks ahead, keeping labour on target while treating your team fairly
- Own stock, ordering and wastage, keeping the café running within agreed budgets
- Maintain Cairngorm's standards across coffee, food and drink, working closely with your Coffee Lead and Food Lead
- Run onboarding for new starters so every one of them feels properly looked after from day one
- Handle performance, conduct and attendance issues promptly, fairly and with respect
- Hold regular one-to-ones and team meetings, giving your leadership team real direction and a genuine voice
- Resolve customer concerns confidently, setting the tone for warm, memorable service
- Ensure all H&S, food safety and cleanliness standards are consistently met, implementing systems/SOP's that ensure training becomes a breeze.
Experience
- Proven management experience in a café, restaurant or similar hospitality environment
- Strong leadership skills, with a track record of motivating and developing a team
- Comfortable with the commercial side from labour %, budgets and stock, without losing sight of people
- Barista or coffee experience preferred, but a genuine willingness to learn is just as important
- Confident handling rotas, ordering and day-to-day operational admin
- Someone coachable. You'll challenge your team fairly, and welcome the same in return

Pay: £31,000.00-£32,500.00 per year
