Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Commis Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation and a strong understanding of kitchen operations. Responsibilities
- Assist in food preparation and cooking under the supervision of senior chefs
- Support the organisation and management of food production processes
- Ensure all dishes are prepared according to specified recipes and presentation standards
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in line with food safety regulations
- Help with stock control, including receiving deliveries and storing ingredients appropriately
- Collaborate effectively with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations
- Supervise junior staff or trainees where required, providing guidance and support
- Uphold high standards of hospitality and customer service during service times
Experience
- Previous experience in a professional kitchen or hospitality environment is desirable
- Supervising experience within a food production or restaurant setting is advantageous
- Proven skills in food preparation, cooking, and kitchen organisation
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in hygiene management
- Experience in team management or leadership roles within culinary settings is preferred
- Familiarity with restaurant operations, serving, and general hospitality duties
