Location: Remote - expectation for occasional travel and attendance at meetings. Candidates should ideally live within 60 miles of Carmarthen for occasional staff away days and IT support.
Hours: 35 hours per week (09.00 - 17.00 Monday to Friday). We will also consider part-time hours for this role. If you are applying for part-time hours, please state the amount of hours per week you are applying. Please note that Cerebra operates fixed shift patterns.
Salary: £24,000 per annum (FTE)

Purpose of the Role
Telephone fundraisers play an important role in helping generate vital income for Cerebra to help us support children with brain conditions and their families. Cerebra is a national charity that supports children with brain conditions through practical advice, support services and research-driven work.
By speaking to existing supporters and using your communication and influencing skills, you will secure support including through lottery signups, raffle ticket sales, donations, regular donors and gifts in wills.
You should be confident, persuasive and motivated by results. As a home-based fundraising role, your ability to build rapport, handle objections and confidently ask for support will be vital.
Key Areas of Responsibility
1. Supporter Communication
- To effectively communicate by telephone and email, to build rapport and have meaningful conversations about Cerebra’s work.
- Use campaign briefs and scripts to deliver accurate messages aligned with Cerebra’s fundraising goals and work.
- Accurately update supporter records and call logs.
- Supporter care - listen attentively, respond sensitively to questions, and ensure supporters feel valued and informed.
2. Fundraising
- Secure supporters and donations through lottery signups, raffle ticket sales, donations, regular donors and gifts in wills.
- Requesting one‑off or regular gifts confidently, following campaign objectives and ensuring donations are processed correctly.
- Achieve targets and KPIs.
- Collaboration with other team members and departments to improve campaign performance.
3. Other Duties
- Participate undertake coaching sessions, and ongoing training to improve call quality and fundraising outcomes.
- You must read and ensure you understand the current versions of Cerebra’s policies and procedures and undertake to act in accordance with them at all times.
- Adhere to all data protection requirements when handling personal supporter data.
