KD Residential Care are looking for passionate, enthusiastic and motivated people who want to make a difference in the lives of children, young people and their families, with the ability to take responsibility to provide positive role modelling, encouraging them to have healthy relationships and enabling them to build trust.
KD Residential Care operates an Ofsted registered 3 bed Children's Home for children and young people with Emotional Behavioural Difficulties. You will be working to nurture and support positive outcomes for children and young people aged 08-17 years old who have emotional and behavioural difficulties.

Personal Specification
Duties and Responsibilities;
Main Duties:
- Being familiar with all policies and procedures and adhering to them
- To work alongside the management team to ensure the service’s existing workforce and resources, as well as to promote and safeguard the welfare of the young people in our care.
- Direct work with young people, key working and generally taking an active part in providing support on a shift work basis.
- To keep the homely, friendly culture and environment of the homes.
- Attending practical matters in relation to childcare (cooking, cleaning, general maintenance around the home etc).
- Working in partnership with young people, their social worker and carers and other relevant agencies. To co-ordinate, monitor and review Care Plans, Risk Assessments, Behaviour Support Plans for all allocated young people preparing to make the transition to adulthood and greater independence as directed by management.
- Complete duties on Mentor, as well as to ensure that daily logs, health and safety checks and handover are completed daily.
- To assist managers in achieving the Statement of Purpose's goals and objectives.
- Assist the Team Leaders in developing goals and progress charts for each young person.
- Administrative work and record keeping associated with key working responsibilities and the daily running of the home as directed by management.
- Liaise with the appropriate multi-agency partners to ensure the best possible support and outcome for each young person in accordance with the Statement of Purpose.
- When necessary, participate in and contribute to placement planning and review meetings as needed. To collaborate with other professionals to achieve the best possible outcomes for young people.
- Taking responsibility for the upkeep of the establishment with regard to health and safety and primary care issues, as well as making autonomous decisions about individual young people’s request and behaviour whilst on shift.
- To ensure that young people carry as much responsibility for their own lives as they can reasonably and demonstrably be expected to carry, keeping them informed of their circumstances and rights, involving them in planning their lives, supporting them and helping them towards taking greater control and responsibility.
- Helping young people gain self-control by challenging unacceptable behaviour and rewarding acceptable, pro-social conduct.
Personal:
- To keep abreast of good practice in order to develop skills, knowledge and experience, in accordance with a personal development plan.
- To make use of regular professional supervision and Independent Development Plans
- To report to a line manager, or other appropriate person, malpractice or evidence which may suggest it
Additional required Duties:
- To carry out any other reasonable duties as requested by management.
- To work shifts including weekends and bank holidays on a rota basis as required
- If you do not hold a minimum NVQ Level 3 in Residential Childcare or equivalent, be willing to work towards your Level 3/4/5 depending on experience.
