Overall aim of the role:
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Grounds & Facilities Assistant to join the team at West Court Retreat. This varied role offers the opportunity to help maintain the high standards our guests expect across the hotel, grounds, and outdoor areas.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the upkeep and presentation of the hotel's gardens, outdoor spaces, and communal areas, while also assisting with general maintenance tasks and supporting the housekeeping team when required.
The ideal candidate will be practical, flexible, and take pride in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our guests.
Please note, West Court Retreat is not on a public transport route, so applicants should consider their travel arrangements before applying.
What you’ll do:

Outdoor Presentation: Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of the hotel's exterior areas to ensure a welcoming environment for guests at all times.

Grounds & External Cleaning: Carry out regular cleaning and upkeep of outdoor areas, including terraces, patios, pool surroundings, pathways, driveways, and entrances.

Daily Upkeep: Sweep and clear patios and litter from outdoor areas, ensuring the grounds remain tidy, safe, and presentable throughout the year.

Health & Safety: Ensure all work is carried out safely and in accordance with health and safety procedures, identifying and reporting any hazards or maintenance concerns promptly.

Flexibility: Provide support with additional duties as required to maintain the high standards of presentation and service expected at West Court Retreat.

Communication: Works well both independently and as part of a team, with good communication skills and a willingness to support colleagues across different departments.
Experience:
Previous experience in a maintenance, groundskeeping, gardening, housekeeping, facilities, or similar hands-on role is preferred.
