Experienced Scenic Carpenter
Scenic Escape Ltd | St Neots, Cambridgeshire Salary: £36,000 - £42,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Scenic Escape is looking for an experienced and highly skilled Scenic Carpenter to join our growing team based in St Neots. This is a varied and exciting role involving both workshop-based fabrication and onsite installation work across the UK, Europe, and occasionally further afield.
We create high-quality scenery, exhibition stands, experiential environments, and bespoke event builds for a wide range of clients, and we're looking for someone who takes pride in delivering exceptional workmanship.
The Role
You will be responsible for the construction, preparation, installation, and dismantling of scenic and exhibition builds, working both in our workshop and on location.
Key responsibilities include:
- Manufacturing scenic elements, exhibition stands, and bespoke event structures.
- Working from technical drawings and design briefs.
- Installing and dismantling projects on-site throughout the UK and Europe.
- Operating a wide range of workshop tools and equipment safely and efficiently.
- Ensuring projects are delivered to a high standard and within deadlines.
- Working collaboratively with the wider production team as well as independently when required.
Essential Requirements
- Proven experience within the live events industry, exhibition sector, or scenic construction environment.
- Strong carpentry and scenic build experience.
- Ability to interpret drawings and work accurately from plans.
- Excellent practical problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently using your own initiative.
- Strong team-working skills and a positive attitude.
- Willingness to travel and work away from home when projects require.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
Desirable
- Forklift, IPAF, PASMA, or other relevant industry certifications.
- Experience with a variety of finishing and scenic techniques.
- Experience leading small installation teams on-site.
