The Role: Workshop Team Leader
We're looking for a hands-on Workshop Team leader to run a busy engineering workshop, leading a team of engineers repairing and maintaining industrial cleaning equipment.
This is a practical leadership role so you will be just as comfortable organising workflow and supporting your team as you are understanding the technical side of the job.
If you're an experienced engineer ready to step up, or already supervising a workshop team, this is a great opportunity to take ownership and make real impact.
What You’ll Be Doing
Leading the Team
- Managing and supporting a team of engineers day-to-day
- Driving productivity, quality, and performance
- Coaching and developing engineers on the job
Running the Workshop
- Planning and prioritising work to keep jobs moving
- Minimising downtime and improving turnaround times
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised workshop
Keeping Operations on Track
- Monitoring job progress, KPIs, and delivery times
- Ensuring job sheets, photos, and systems are up to date
- Providing regular updates to management
Improving Performance
- Identifying ways to improve efficiency and workflow
- Supporting training and continuous improvement
- Ensuring health & safety standards are consistently met
What We’re Looking For
- Experience in a workshop, service, or engineering environment
- Strong mechanical or technical understanding
- Previous team leadership experience (or ready to step up)
- Organised and able to manage multiple priorities
- Comfortable with admin and using systems
- A proactive, hands-on approach
Experience with industrial equipment is useful but not essential.
