Job Overview
Here at Prime Switchgear Ltd are seeking a skilled Wireman to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background and understanding in electrical work/switchgear and demonstrate proficiency with hand and power tools. This role is essential in ensuring the safe and professional work in our field of LV Switchgear. the equipment and work to undertake is to manufacture LV Switchboards, Panelboards, Distribution Boards and ATS units of all sizes.
The Wireman will work closely with other tradespeople to deliver high-quality workmanship on various projects to deadlines to meet the companies programme.
Duties
- Wire and assemble electrical LV Switchgear working with wiring drawings and building to the correct standards along with testing.
- Use hand tools and power tools effectively to complete tasks related to electrical installations.
- Troubleshoot electrical issues and perform necessary repairs to ensure optimal functionality.
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects on time while adhering to quality standards.
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment, ensuring all tools and equipment are stored properly after use.
- Follow all health and safety protocols to minimise risks associated with electrical work.
- Help organise and drive a full team of shop floor staff on a day by day basis.
- Leader in both hands on manufacturing and talking with the production team.
- Weekly meetings to discuss production and have input with the management team and the shop floor team.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Wireman or in a similar electrical role.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, wiring methods, and safety protocols.
- Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools relevant to electrical work.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective collaboration with team members.
- A valid electrical qualification or certification is preferred but not mandatory.
