Overview:
West Sussex Mind is looking for a Fundraising Lead to join our friendly, supportive team and help grow the income that makes our mental health services possible.
If you enjoy building strong relationships, spotting opportunities and inspiring people to support a cause that matters, we would love to hear from you.
You may already have fundraising experience, or you may bring transferable skills from community engagement, events, sales, communications, account management or partnership working.
In this varied and rewarding role, you will develop and deliver fundraising activity across a range of income streams, helping us promote good mental health through high-quality services, campaigning, awareness-raising and community support across West Sussex. This is a pivotal opportunity to shape our fundraising approach and help us achieve our strategic ambitions in the years ahead.
You will lead annual fundraising activities for West Sussex Mind, while bringing your own creativity and ideas to expand our events, partnerships and community fundraising opportunities.
This role will report to the Fundraising and Communications Manager.
The successful candidate will
- Identify and engage potential corporate partners, creating compelling proposals, presentations and reports that inspire support for West Sussex Mind
- Represent West Sussex Mind at networking opportunities, events and meetings, helping more people understand and support our work
- Nurture existing business relationships and provide excellent stewardship so supporters feel valued, informed and connected to our impact
- Secure and develop new corporate partnership opportunities, including donations, sponsorship, employee fundraising, charity of the year partnerships, payroll giving and gifts in kind
- Develop creative initiatives with partners that make the best use of their skills, resources and networks in support of West Sussex Mind’s vision
- Plan and lead events and activities that engage corporate partners with West Sussex Mind’s strategy and impact
- Track partnership performance against targets and maintain accurate records in the CRM system
We welcome applications from experienced charity fundraisers and from people with strong transferable skills who are excited to develop their experience in fundraising. What matters most is your ability to build relationships, communicate confidently, stay organised and bring energy and creativity to the role.
You will be confident working with a wide range of people and organisations, and proactive in identifying community fundraising opportunities. Experience of working with or recruiting volunteers would be helpful, but it is not essential.
As a small organisation with a small fundraising and communications team, we are looking for someone who is comfortable taking the lead on projects while also being hands-on with day-to-day fundraising activity. You will be supported by colleagues who care deeply about our mission and the communities we serve.
