Road Tester
Location: Thurleigh, Bedfordshire
Shift: Monday-Friday, 07:30-17:00
Pay Rate: £16.80 per hour
Contract: Full-Time, Ongoing Work
We are currently recruiting for Despatch Road Testers to join a leading automotive operation in Thurleigh. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with automotive experience who enjoys driving and has a good understanding of vehicle operation and condition.
The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out road tests on vehicles prior to despatch, identifying any faults or concerns, and ensuring vehicles meet the required standards before leaving site.
The Role:
As a Despatch Road Tester, your responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out road tests on vehicles prior to despatch
- Completing test routes of approximately 20 minutes on public roads
- Listening and looking for any mechanical, electrical, or operational faults during the road test
- Reporting any defects or concerns identified during testing
- Completing vehicle checks and associated documentation accurately
- Liaising with workshop and operational teams regarding any issues found
- Ensuring vehicles meet quality standards before release
- Following all company processes and health and safety procedures
The Person:
- Previous automotive experience is essential
- Good understanding of vehicle operation and common vehicle faults
- Confident driving a variety of vehicle makes and models
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to identify and report issues accurately
- Reliable and able to work independently
- Full UK Driving Licence with no more than 6 points for minor offences
