Job Purpose
To support the efficient operation of the extrusion production line by monitoring machinery, performing basic maintenance tasks, operating forklifts (FLT), and carrying out quality checks to ensure products meet required standards.
Key Responsibilities
Machine Operation & Monitoring:
- Operate and monitor extrusion machinery to ensure continuous, safe, and efficient production.
- Adjust machine settings within defined parameters to maintain product quality and output.
- Identify and report any faults, abnormalities, or inefficiencies in equipment performance.
- Minimise downtime by responding promptly to process issues.
Basic Maintenance:
- Carry out routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning, lubrication, and minor adjustments.
- Assist engineering teams with planned maintenance and breakdowns when required.
- Ensure machinery is kept in a safe and operational condition at all times.
- Accurately record maintenance activities and issues.
FLT (Forklift Truck) Operations:
- Safely operate forklift trucks to transport raw materials, finished goods, and waste.
- Load and unload materials in line with production schedules.
- Conduct daily FLT safety checks and report defects.
- Ensure safe storage and handling of materials in accordance with site procedures.
Quality Control & Testing:
- Perform regular quality checks on products, including measurements and visual inspections.
- Record test results accurately and report any non-conformance.
- Ensure products meet customer specifications and internal quality standards.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce defects and waste.
Health, Safety & Compliance:
- Follow all health and safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE at all times.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area in line with housekeeping standards.
- Comply with company policies, procedures, and industry regulations.
- Report hazards, near misses, and incidents promptly.
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or extrusion environment preferred.
- Valid FLT license (Counterbalance).
- Basic mechanical or maintenance skills.
- Understanding of quality control processes and standards.
- Ability to read and follow technical instructions and procedures.
- Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.

Working Hours
Shifts work on a 4 on 4 off basis.
2 days (0700 – 1900)
2 nights (1900 – 0700)
