Summary
We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Tractor Driver to join our Ditcheat Dairy Farming team. This is a hands-on role supporting day-to-day farming operations through the safe and efficient operation of tractors, trailers and associated agricultural machinery.
The successful candidate will support a range of farm activities including field work, crop handling, feeding, yard duties, material transport and general farm tasks. You will play an important part in helping the farm operate safely, efficiently and to high standards of health and safety, animal welfare, food safety and equipment care.
Key responsibilities
· Safely operate tractors, trailers and agricultural machinery in line with company procedures and health and safety requirements.
· Carry out field work and general farm operations, including cultivation, mowing, topping, spreading, slurry handling, silage work and other seasonal tasks.
· Transport feed, crops, bedding, waste, equipment and other materials around the farm and between sites where required.
· Support daily livestock and dairy farming operations, including feeding, bedding, yard work and general farm duties.
· Complete pre-use checks, basic maintenance and cleaning of tractors, machinery and equipment, reporting defects or damage promptly.
· Maintain accurate records where required, including machinery checks, field work, maintenance and fuel use.
· Work flexibly as part of the wider farm team, supporting colleagues and adapting to seasonal demands, weather conditions and business priorities.
What you’ll bring
· Telehandler experience and licence.
· Ability to understand and use modern tractor technology.
· Calm and methodical approach around animals.
· Positive and efficient work ethic.
· Willingness to learn new skills.
· Respectful approach towards the farm, animals, colleagues and others.
· Silaging skills and experience of TMR feeding would be desirable.
Working pattern
Monday to Friday 7:30am – 5:00pm, the role also requires flexibility, including the ability to undertake additional hours and weekend working in line with business needs.
Rate of Pay
The rate of pay is in line with national minimal/living wage rate and is dependent on previous experience.
