About the role
I am a young man in my 30’s who has autism, Down’s Syndrome and who is non-verbal but communicates using other means very well. I live at home with my mum, dad, 2 dogs and 1 cat. I have a great sense of humour and love to have fun with people.
I’m looking for a patient and understanding person to support me, all while having fun!
Your attitude, personality, openness and approach are more important than previous experience as all relevant training will be provided. Please note, as I have coeliac disease, we have a gluten and dairy free home. We also have a smoke and vape free home.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Having fun with me and willing to be silly!
- Promoting and encouraging my communication skills
- Cooking my meals
- Supporting me to be as independent as possible

- A valid driving licence and access to your own vehicle as the role is in a rural location

Summary terms and conditions
· Hours, days and times of work:
o There is an average of 20 hours per week (24 hours one week and 16 hours the next week)
o Shifts available are 9am till 5pm- Every Friday. Every other Tuesday, Saturday and Sunday. This is done on a 2-week rolling shift pattern.
· Pay rate:
o Weekdays: £14.53 per hour
o Sundays and bank holidays: £14.75 per hour
· You will be responsible to my Mum, Dad and Team Leader

· Annual leave: The annual leave holiday entitlement for this position will be equivalent to the work normally done during 5.6 weeks (statutory entitlement)
· Expenses: You will be reimbursed for prior agreed expenses incurred as part of the role.
· Sick pay: I do not operate a private sick pay scheme but provided you meet the eligibility criteria, you may be entitled to Statutory Sick Pay (SSP)
· Pension: I do not operate a private pension scheme, but I will fulfil my statutory obligations via the NEST pension scheme.
