Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Carpenter/Builder to join our construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for constructing, repairing, and maintaining structures using a variety of materials and techniques on our various projects and sites. Your expertise will help bring architectural visions to life, ensuring safety, durability, and aesthetic appeal on various holiday lets and the re-construction of a rural pub/restaurant. Responsibilities
- Measure, cut, assemble, and install building components with precision using hand tools and power tools
- Fabricate custom parts and structures to specifications, ensuring quality and safety standards are met
- Perform roofing tasks including installation, repairs, and maintenance to ensure weatherproofing and structural integrity
- Execute masonry work such as bricklaying, stone setting, and concrete pouring as required for various projects
- Conduct construction painting to enhance finishes and protect surfaces from environmental damage
- Assist with plumbing installations and repairs to support building functionality
- Support electrical work by installing fixtures or conduits where necessary, adhering to safety protocols
- Lift heavy materials safely and efficiently while maintaining proper posture and technique
- Collaborate with team members on assembly tasks, joinery projects, and site preparations to meet project deadlines
Skills
- Proficiency in fabrication, assembly, and the use of hand tools and power tools
- Strong knowledge of carpentry techniques including framing, finishing, and joinery methods
- Experience with roofing installation and repair processes
- Ability to perform masonry work such as bricklaying or concrete work with accuracy
- Basic plumbing skills for installing or repairing pipes and fixtures
- Electrical experience for basic wiring or fixture installation is a bonus.
- Physical strength for heavy lifting tasks combined with good stamina for long workdays
- Attention to detail in construction painting and finishing touches
- Ability to read blueprints or technical drawings to execute precise builds
