The Role
We are currently recruiting a talented private Criminal Defence Solicitor from who is 10+ years’ PQE to lead our Criminal Defence department based out of our London office.
Candidates must have good technical knowledge, have excellent client handling skills and also be enthusiastic about business development. You should be willing to work as part of a team, while maintaining a strong client focus and have exceptional communication and organisational skills.
The responsibilities for this role encompass managing your own caseload, with support from the wider criminal defence team. The main issues the criminal defence department manage are driving offences, violent and sexual offences, drugs offences, investigations and fraud matters.
You’ll be trusted with:
- Autonomy in your role to deliver your billing target
- Long-term career prospects ranging from directorship to managing roles and share ownership
- Responsibility and opportunities to manage client relationships
- A varied caseload across a broad category of criminal defence areas
Role Requirements
- Experience in private criminal defence matters either exclusively, or alongside legal aid work. Please note that the firm does not take on any matters on a legal aid basis
- Able to demonstrate a following of clients or the ability to bring clients to the firm
- 10+ years’ PQE
- Full, clean driving licence and/or ability to travel across London and the South East
