Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Yard Worker/Labourer to join our team. This role involves working both within the yard and on customer sites, assisting with the movement of materials, operating equipment, and carrying out general labouring duties as required.
Duties
- Operate forklifts and other machinery safely to load and unload materials.
- Manage inventory by accurately tracking items within the warehouse management system.
- Perform heavy lifting and assist with the movement, loading, and unloading of materials throughout the yard and on-site locations.
- Carry out general labouring duties, including site preparation, material handling, and assisting tradespeople as required.
- Drive to a number of sites to deliver materials and support operational requirements.
- Ensure all equipment is maintained in good working order, reporting any faults or issues promptly.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work area, adhering to health and safety procedures at all times.
- Support site teams with manual tasks and other operational duties as directed.
Experience
- Previous experience in a warehouse, yard, labouring, or construction environment is preferred.
- Experience with warehouse management systems would be beneficial.
- A valid forklift licence is desirable.
- An HGV licence would be advantageous but is not essential.
- Physically fit and capable of carrying out manual handling and labour-intensive tasks.
- Full UK driving licence required.
