Working directly for this family run local business, you will become part of a friendly workforce working primarily in the Worcestershire region, attending to domestic and commercial drainage issues. Experience in the groundworks/drainage industry would be beneficial, however full training will be given. The candidate needs to be happy to complete a variety of changing activities. Sometimes emergency/essential works change a daily plan, and you may be asked to change scope of works during the course of your shift.

We are looking for an experienced and reliable Sewage/Drainage Engineer to join our friendly team. This is a varied role involving high-pressure water jetting, CCTV drainage surveys, blockage clearance, fault finding, minor dig-ups, drainage works and general groundworks.
The role can be varied from day to day. Emergency and essential works can change the daily schedule, so the successful candidate needs to be flexible and happy to change the scope of works during their shift when required.
The Role
You will be involved in a wide range of drainage and sewage work, including:
- High-pressure water jetting and blockage clearance
- CCTV drainage surveys and inspections/investigations
- Minor excavation and dig-up works
- Installation and repair of drainage pipework
- Installation of manholes, soakaways and associated drainage infrastructure
- Repairs and maintenance to sewage systems and pumping stations
- General groundworks, including excavation, concrete works and reinstatement
- Operating plant and machinery where appropriately trained/licensed
- Safe operation of company vehicles and equipment
- Liaising with customers, the office and other contractors regarding works and progress
- Completing daily vehicle checks and reporting defects
- Keeping company vehicles and equipment clean, tidy and maintained
- Maintaining the good reputation of Aqua Cleansing through professional and courteous customer service
The ideal candidate will have previous experience in the drainage, sewage, jetting, CCTV or groundworks industry. Experience in all areas is not essential as training will be provided to the right person.
We are particularly interested in candidates who have experience with:
- Drain jetting / high-pressure water jetting
- CCTV drainage surveys
- Groundworks and excavation
- Drainage installation and repairs
- Sewage treatment plants and pumping stations
You will need to be physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions. The role involves driving, manual work and working in confined or difficult-to-access areas where appropriate training and procedures are in place.
Skills & Experience
- Previous drainage/sewage/groundworks experience desirable
- Experience using a drain jetter and/or CCTV equipment desirable
- Groundworks experience desirable
- Good practical and problem-solving skills
- Good communication skills
- Basic computer skills, including completing reports on mobile applications
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Full UK driving licence
- Ability to drive a 5-tonne van on your licence (essential)
- Class 2 / Category C licence
- CSCS card would be beneficial but not essential
- CPCS/NPORS plant qualifications would be beneficial
- DBS check required
Full training will be given where necessary, so if you have good practical experience in drainage, construction, groundworks or a similar industry, we would still like to hear from you.

Working Hours
After an initial period, the successful candidate will work Monday to Friday, with on-call rota responsibilities, currently approximately 1 week in every 4 weeks, responding to emergency drainage and sewage work.

Salary: negotiable £30,000–£38,000 per annum, depending on experience and responsibilities, plus overtime and enhanced on-call payments.
