About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, confident self-starter with a ‘can do’ attitude, to join a small and dynamic team in delivering a wide and diverse range of projects, events and initiatives, with no two days ever being the same.
The successful candidate will be proficient in social and digital media and marketing and event management. The post holder must have excellent organisational and interpersonal skills and be flexible in responding to the demands of a dynamic and ever-changing, working environment.
The role will require the post holder to communicate with our c1,300 BID members and a wide variety of local and national businesses, public and private stakeholders, commercial contractors and members of the local community.
Key duties of the role are to provide effective social media campaigns, marketing support and events management to deliver activities within the three key pillars of the BID business plan.
We are looking for someone who is passionate about supporting our BID members, promoting our area and the benefits that the BID can bring.
Most importantly we need a team player who is collaborative and happy to pitch-in with whatever needs doing – but at the same time can work independently using their own initiative.
Duties and Responsibilities
· To assist the BID Chief Executive and Operations & Projects Manager with the delivery of a wide range of BID projects and activities
· Prepare relevant marketing/events action plans, ensuring activities happen on time and on budget
· Liaising with the Chief Executive and appointed design agency, oversee the North Notts BID website content management and updates
· Communicate with the BIDs PR agency on relevant content for press releases, video clips and other relevant publicity material, updating and sharing information via a Trello board
· Work with the press and local media to ensure that relevant advertisements are placed to promote projects, events and other activities. Negotiate rates to ensure spend is in line with the marketing/events action plans and is on budget
· Prepare and schedule BID related weekly content for social media channels e.g. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and other forms of social media
· Additional daily promotion of BID projects, events and activities via the BID website and social media channels, also sharing relevant information from our BID members
· Plan, promote and administer both physical and virtual BID member workshops including First Aid at Work, Food Hygiene and other relevant topics
· Assist the events management company and respective business forums with the operations of events including supervision of allocated activities, information provision to visitors and exhibitors, ensuring a safe event environment, help with set down & creating social media content of the day
· To collate key performance indicators from various internal and external sources to assist with the evaluation of marketing campaigns and events, e.g. take up of BID projects, social media analytics, post event surveys, etc.
· Ensure that all activities are logged on the CRM system, extract reports and mailing lists and assist with its general maintenance.
· Support with coordinating marketing mail-outs, book meeting rooms, meet and greet of visitors, arranging venues and catering, sourcing speakers etc
· Create artwork for advertising purposes, including formats such as print, email and online use
· Design relevant artwork for events and projects, including roller banners, posters, leaflets etc.
· Assisting with projects from a creative perspective
· Manage budgets and organise paid advertising to help drive further engagement
· Create monthly reports analysing the previous months social media performance, identifying strengths and weaknesses
· Create an updated element to the CEO report every other month, going into more detail about the figures and success of social media channels, paid ads and other involvement with projects and events from a creative perspective
· Run the social media accounts for the North Notts Indies
· Create monthly BID Member Spotlights, sharing these across all social channels and the website, alongside taking images and creating video footage to turn into TikTok videos/Instagram reels
· Create monthly North Notts Indies Spotlights
· Deal confidently with calls and email enquiries from BID members, offering advice on member benefits, liaising with the Council’s business rates team on bill-related queries

Person Specification
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:
Essential:
- A minimum of 5 GCSE at grades A-C or above (including maths and English)
- Educated to a minimum A level/level 3 in a relevant discipline such as marketing, PR, digital media or Communications
- Proficient in all aspects of social media including Twitter, Linkedin, Facebook, Instagram and familiar with social media scheduling programmes, for example hootsuite or similar
- Experience in Google Analytics suite, social media analytics and the use of a graphic design platform, for example Adobe or Canva
- Experienced in the managing websites, and in particular the use of Wordpress and Mailchimp
- Experienced in producing marketing/events project plans
- Experienced in producing good, grammatically correct copy for use on the website, in brochures and advertisements
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience of office-based administration activities
- Ability to work flexibly in a team
- Strong organisational skills, able to prioritise a variety of tasks, methodical in approach and possessing a keen eye for detail
- Personable and confident self-starter, with the ability to tactfully use initiative and take a proactive approach to getting things done
- Excellent IT skills; fully competent with Microsoft office 365 (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook, etc)
Desirable:
· Knowledge and an understanding of Business Improvement Districts
· Experience of business support activities and projects
· Knowledge and experience in working with CRM systems
· General knowledge of the Bassetlaw area and local economy
Additional information:
- The role will be based in the North Notts BID office in Worksop
- The core hours of work are Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm
- 37.5 hours per week
- 25 days holiday entitlement plus bank holidays and birthday leave, with an additional day per full year served (30 days maximum).
- Occasional weekend and evening work will be required to meet the needs of this role
- The role is primarily office based but will require occasional travel for meetings and events
- This role is subject to a 6 months probationary period.
Pay: £35,000.00 per year
