Salary: £50,000 + Company Van + Fuel Card
Hours: Monday to Friday – Days
Location: Swindon & Surrounding Areas
Training Provided: IRTEC Class 1 LOLER Tachograph
Overview
We are looking for an experienced Mobile HGV Technician to join a growing field‑service team covering Swindon and the surrounding region. This is a Monday–Friday days position offering excellent work–life balance, a fully equipped van, and industry‑leading training including IRTEC, Class 1, LOLER, and Tacho certification.
Perfect for a Level 3 HGV Technician who enjoys working independently, solving problems on the road, and delivering high‑quality service to fleet customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Mobile servicing & repairs on HGVs, trailers and LCVs
- Diagnostics & fault‑finding – electrical, mechanical, pneumatic
- MOT preparation & compliance inspections
- Attend roadside breakdowns and carry out safe, efficient repairs
- Complete PMIs, safety inspections and defect rectification
- Maintain accurate digital job sheets and service reports
- Communicate clearly with fleet teams and customers
- Ensure all work meets DVSA and manufacturer standards
Requirements
- Level 3 HGV Technician qualification (IMI, NVQ or equivalent)
- Strong background in HGV maintenance, diagnostics and repair
- Confident working independently in a mobile role
- Full UK Driving Licence (Class 1 training provided if needed)
- Excellent communication and customer‑facing skills
- High standards of safety, quality and professionalism
