Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Mechanic Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting a variety of industrial equipment, ensuring optimal operational performance. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with strong mechanical and electrical knowledge, as well as hands-on experience with fabrication, welding, and power tools. The Mechanic Technician will play a vital part in supporting our machinery and equipment, including excavators and forklifts, to maintain safety and efficiency across operations.
Responsibilities
- Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on a wide range of machinery and equipment
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues using schematics and technical manuals
- Fabricate components or parts as needed using welding, soldering, and hand tools
- Perform equipment repairs including vans/trucks/trailers and forklifts
- Utilise power tools safely for assembly, disassembly, and repair tasks
- Troubleshoot electrical systems and perform wiring or soldering as required
- Read and interpret schematics to identify faults and implement solutions
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities and repairs performed
- Assist with installation of new equipment or upgrades to existing systems
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards and company policies
Experience
- Proven experience in mechanical repair, fabrication, welding, soldering, electrical systems or related fields
- Familiarity with schematics, technical drawings, and diagnostic tools
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment
- Strong knowledge of mechanical principles combined with electrical experience is advantageous
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during maintenance tasks
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on safety and quality standards
- Customer service skills are beneficial for liaising with internal teams or external clients during service calls
