We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Practice Accounts Assistant to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will support the smooth operation of our team within a professional practice environment. Responsibilities:
- Bookkeeping & VAT: Maintaining client books, performing bank reconciliations, and preparing/submitting quarterly VAT returns using cloud software
- Accounts Preparation: Help preparing year-end statutory accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies
- Tax Compliance: Help preparing and filing Self-Assessment Tax Returns, Capital Gain Tax and basic corporation tax computations.
- Payroll & Admin: Knowledge of monthly/weekly client payroll and handling auto-enrolment pensions
- Companies House: Managing basic company secretarial filings
- Ad-hoc practice admin tasks such maintaining client records, AMLCC
- Client Liaison: Communicating directly with clients to request records, answer routine queries, build and maintain working relationships
Skills and Requirements
- Qualifications: AAT, qualified by experience (QBE) or part qualified ACCA / CIMA
- Software Literacy: Strong proficiency in UK cloud accounting packages (such as Xero, QuickBooks, or Sage) and good Microsoft Excel skill
- Experience: Preferably working within a practice environment managing a varied client portfolio
- Soft Skills: Strong time management, attention to detail, and clear communication skills, both spoken and written, to deal with individuals and small business owners and a team-oriented approach
- Ability to work independently is a must

Pay: £26,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
